The Lighter Side

Not everything that ENTERS your head should EXIT your mouth. Proverbs 18:2 “A fool finds no pleasure in understanding but delights in airing his own opinions.”

Check this out: there’s only a two-letter difference between WHINE and WIN. If you take H and E from WHINE you get WIN. So remember, if you want to WIN, HE (God) has to get out of your WHINE.

ATTENTION MEN: You may be the ALPHA MALE, but just remember…Jesus is the ALPHA AND OMEGA MALE. Revelation 1:8 “I am Alpha and Omega”

A struggling florist in a small town was about to go out of business unless he could sell 12 dozen roses before days end. He decided to travel to the big city to sell the roses. By the time he reached the big city, though, the day had ended and he didn’t sell any roses. Moral to the story: Stop and sell the roses along the way! 🙂

Ye are the salt of the earth – Matthew 5:13. Don’t lose your saltiness or it will be “the bland leading the bland.”

Why do they call those little snack-size candy bars “FUN SIZE?” My idea of a “fun size” candy bar is one that’s about a foot long!

In the word “unclear” if you switch the first two letters around you get “nuclear”. But just because things look “unclear” doesn’t mean you’re in for an explosion! It’s just another opportunity to walk by faith. “For we walk by faith, NOT BY SIGHT” 2 Cor. 5:7.

Two small snakes were slithering down the gangplank of Noah’s ark after the flood subsided. They heard God say “Be fruitful and multiply!” One snake turned and looked at the other and said “But we’re ADDERS!” Today you will be part of a mathematical equation in the earth. The question is will you add something to the world or will you subtract?

I remember when “looking to God” was my LAST RESORT. Now it’s my FIRST RESORT, MY SECOND RESORT and EVERY OTHER RESORT. Guess you could say I spend most of my time AT THE RESORT!

I met a man who said he didn’t believe in “absolutes.” I asked the man “Do you ever use absolutes?” To which he replied “NEVER!”

WARNING: there is a fast-growing CULT that’s sweeping the nation. People of all ages, races and social standings are becoming members. The name of the cult is “diffiCULT” and its members are easily recognizable by their inability to get along with others. You may know some of these diffiCULT people….my prayer is that you don’t become one of them!

Have you ever thought about the POWER of a hyphen?

Though a hyphen is small and seemingly insignificant, one well-placed hyphen can change everything. I mean, really, which would be more intimidating to you…a man eating chicken or a man-eating chicken? 🙂 Yes, you may feel like you’re small and insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but when you’re in the right place at the right time you can make a powerful difference!

Theo: comb. form of Greek theós meaning “God.”

Man does not always give God His proper credit. But even when men try to deny God’s existence and His creative ability, God still gets His name in there…He gets the last laugh. After all, you can’t write “Theory of evolution” or “Big Bang Theory” without spelling THEO…Greek for GOD. Yep, God’s pretty clever! Psalm 2:4 “He who sits in the heavens laughs”

The difference between a legalist and a hypocrite:

The legalist says “That looks like fun…it must be sin!” The hypocrite says “That looks like sin…it must be fun!”

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day

(unless “that man” is Jesus…in which case you might end up feeding 5,000 people for a day!)

When you put people on a pedestal they tend to get a big head.

When people get big heads they become top-heavy. When people get top-heavy they become imbalanced. When people get imbalanced they tend to FALL……So, don’t put people on a pedestal.

A number 2 pencil makes a bold, dark mark during its lifetime,

but, it’s not too proud to admit it can make a mistake, so it carries a pink eraser with it everywhere it goes. A ball-point pen, on the other hand, seems to be way too sure of itself and it’s abilities. When it does make a mistake the correction can be very ugly. BE A NUMBER 2 PENCIL!

Those who are well “grounded” will not be easily “shocked.”

Colossians 1:23 “…continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard.”

Some say “Don’t burn any bridges behind you.”

But I say “Don’t build your bridges out of flammable materials.”
